Chad Renfro is executive vice president of Enterprise Cybersecurity for Fidelity Investments, a diversified financial services firm that makes financial expertise broadly accessible to people investing their life savings, businesses managing their employee benefits and advisors investing their clients’ money. Since 1946, Fidelity has been helping people live the lives they want through its customer- centered approach, innovative technology and investment solutions.
In this role, Mr. Renfro leads Fidelity’s Enterprise Cybersecurity.
Mr. Renfro is a distinguished officer graduate of Baylor University. Since completing his formal education, he has worked for more than 20 years in information security. Most recently, he served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Bank of America’s Information Protection division, leading more than 1200 security professionals. Mr. Renfro was with Bank of America from 2000 to 2014.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Renfro served as an officer with the United States Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT) at the Air Force Information Warfare Center, headquartered near San Antonio. While at the AFCERT, Chad built and led a team of Cyber Defense Analysts and worked on developing systems used for detecting compromised assets. He was then advanced to the position of Chief of Technical Operations.
Over his career, Mr. Renfro has led more than 500 cyber incident investigations, developed several specialized tools for information security, including specialized intrusion detection systems. He has seven patents filed and four patents pending in the areas of risk management and intrusion detection.
